My is a stay at home mom and it’s been a real blessing in so many ways. I won’t lie, it hasn’t been easy financially, but it’s worth the sacrifice.
We wanted our children (3 girls!) to have their first years be at home with a parent instead of a stranger at day care. They get the kind of attention that only a parent can give, and I believe we’re a stronger family for it.
It’s always nice to hear other parents making the sacrifice.
I will say though that it is much easier without significant debt. It’s near impossible for a family of 3+ to live on a single income with credit card debt, car payments and a mortgage!
As with so much in life, it’s all about planning and discipline.
